Claus Muschallik was born 1966 in Bogotá, Colombia. He received the Engineering Degree from the Technical University of Munich in 1989. Claus further obtained his Ph.D. from the Technical University of Braunschweig in 2000, coached by Prof. Ulrich Reimers, with a major in digital terrestrial television and OFDM.
Upon graduation, Claus worked for 8 years with the Deutsche Thomson-Brandt in the RF-Laboratories of the Corporate Research & Advanced Development Division. He was actively involved in the front-end development for digital terrestrial TV used in the HDTVT and dTTb groups. He participated in the DVB technical module during the definition of DVB-T standard. In addition, he was also engaged in the RF front-end development of cable and satellite for digital TV and led the project return channel for cable.
In 1998, Claus joined Siemens Semiconductors and specialized in satellite tuner semiconductors application. In the course of his career with Siemens Semiconductor and later Infineon Technologies, he was appointed as the project leader for WLAN and dedicated himself in the research area of Discretes and Tuner under the Wireless Marketing Application group.
Claus had transferred to Singapore since 2002 and assigned as the Director of Tuner Application team. In 2003, he assumed worldwide application and technical supports for Tuner and Discretes. With the reorganization in end 2004, Tuner Systems as an independent Business Unit, he heads the Tuner System Support team; covers the marketing activities for Japan region and is appointed as the Program management task of the latest combined RF and demodulator activities.
Claus is author of 12 papers, owns 8 patents and is an IEEE member.
